The Panthers became the most iconic Black power organization creating free breakfast programs, health clinics, organizing armed patrols against police brutality, and promoting global anti-colonial solidarity. The Panthers openly supported Palestinian liberation. In 1969, Panthers who were fleeing U.S. government repression established the Black Panther Party's international section in Algeria, where they built ties with other liberation movements, including with Palestinians.
